45-year-old Byron Glover, DOB 08/22/1966, 2041 Argonaut Rd, Avon Park, is charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Resisting without Violence, in connection to a late night Armed Robber which occurred in Frostproof.
At approximately 11:45 am, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, a black male wearing a tan/brown long sleeved shirt, brown gloves, blue jeans and a white hard hat entered the Town Star Food Store, 7030 US Hwy 27 S, Frostproof, jumped over the counter and pushed the victim/clerk into a cigarette display case.
The suspect used a box cutter and stabbed the victim in the chest, cutting his shirt. The suspect then cut the victim on his left cheek, causing a minor laceration. As the suspect was threatening the victim, he demanded money. The victim cooperated and as the victim opened the register, the suspect grabbed all the money that was located inside, jumped the counter again and fled the area. Through their investigation, detectives determined that the suspect was Glover.
Deputies patrolling the area observed a black male walking on Hopson Road near Lincoln Road, who was wearing the same clothing description as the suspect. Once they made contact with the suspect they identified him as Glover. Glover was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail.
