Two Winter Haven men arrested for trafficking in heroin

Yesterday afternoon PCSO detectives arrested 26-year-old Spencer Charles Leonard, Jr. of 2993 Simpson Drive, Winter Haven, and 25-year-old Jacob Wells Beacham of 228 9th St. SE, Winter Haven on charges (each) of Trafficking in Heroin over 28 grams and Conspiracy to Traffic in Heroin over 28 grams.  Undercover PCSO detectives identified Leonard and Beacham as being involved in the illegal trafficking of heroin in the Winter Haven area.  Detective arranged to meet them in Winter Haven Tuesday afternoon to sell them five ounces of heroin for $10,000.  When they arrived and consummated the deal, detectives arrested both men.  $10,000 in currency and a 2007 white Dodge Ram truck registered to Beacham were seized under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act.  Both men were booked into the Polk County Jail where they are being held on no bond.

Leonard’s criminal history includes six previous felonies, eight misdemeanors, and he has previously been incarcerated in Florida state prison.  Beacham has no previous criminal history.
