 PCSO Computer Crimes Detectives Arrest Six Men For Possession of Child Pornography 


 

From Tuesday, October 14th through Thursday, October 16th, 2014, County Sheriff’s Computer Crimes detectives served search warrants and made 6 arrests during an undercover investigation focusing on the promotion, possession, and distribution of child pornography.

 

A search warrant was executed at 641 Sunway Lane in Winter Haven, the home of John Nowakowski. During an on-scene preview of Nowakowski’s computer, detectives observed at least 40 images depicting child pornography. He was arrested and charged with 40 counts Possession of Child Pornography. He has no prior arrests in Polk County. He told detectives he works for Coca-Cola in Auburndale. Detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending.

 

A search warrant was executed at 961 Oleander Drive SE in Winter Haven, the home of Christopher Reynolds. Reynolds told detectives he has been viewing and distributing child pornography for the past 10 years, including images of children as young as 3 years old. He was arrested and charged with 10 counts Promotion of Sexual Performance of a Child, and Possession of Methamphetamines and Paraphernalia. He has no prior arrests in Polk County. He told detectives he is unemployed and receives over $180 per month in food stamps. Detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending.

 

A search warrant was executed at 1215 Easy Street in Lakeland, the home of Jordan Coleman. During an on-scene preview of Coleman’s computer, detectives observed at least 15 images depicting child pornography. He was arrested and charged with 15 counts Possession of Child Pornography and 2 counts Promotion of Sexual Performance of a Child. He has no prior arrests in Polk County. He told detectives he is an electrician and works in Tampa. Detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending.

 

A search warrant was executed at 4611 Omar Avenue in Lakeland, the home of Wilberto Clapis. During an on-scene preview of Clapis’ computer, detectives observed at least 40 images depicting child pornography. He told detectives he created fictitious identities on the Internet for the purpose of viewing and downloading videos containing child pornography. He was arrested and charged with 40 counts Possession of Child Pornography. He has no prior arrests in Polk County. Detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending.

 

A search warrant was executed at 4909 Deter Road in Lakeland, the home of Brandon Mershon. Mershon told detectives he downloaded and viewed child pornography. He was arrested and charged with 19 counts Possession of Child Pornography and 12 counts Promotion of Sexual Performance of a Child. He has no prior arrests in Polk County. He told detectives he receives over $700 per month in disability. Detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending.

 

A search warrant was executed at 3020 Mar Lisa Cove Road in Lake Wales, the home of Timothy DeMoura. DeMoura told detectives he has viewed child pornography for years, with images of children as young as six years old. An on-scene preview of DeMoura’s computer revealed 9 videos and one image of child pornography. He was arrested and charged with 10 counts Possession of Child Pornography. He has no prior arrests in Polk County. He told detectives he receives food stamps. Detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending. 

The investigation is ongoing.
