Polk State College Law Enforcement Scholarships 

 

The Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk State College are proud to announce a scholarship opportunity to the residents of Polk County. If you are interested in pursueing a degree in law enforcement or criminal justice please take the time to view the scholarship opportunities below. 

           The Sheriff Grady Judd Scholarship at Polk State College:    The Sheriff Grady Judd Scholarship is available to Polk County residents who attended high school in Polk County and who are currently enrolled in a Criminal Justice program at Polk State. Recipients of this scholarship must maintain a minimum of 6 credit hours during the fall and spring terms, must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 and, upon completion of their degree, must agree to write a letter to Sheriff Judd explaining the benefits of this scholarship. Students must complete a 500 word essay prior to receiving this scholarship evidencing seriousness of purpose and an understanding of the importance of a college-educated law enforcement officer.

        The Regalf Charitable Foundation Scholarship at Polk State College:   The Regalf Charitable Foundation Scholarship pays for four years of undergraduate matriculation at Polk State College towards a degree in the field of law enforcement. In addition, this scholarship pays for completion of the Kenneth C. Thompson Institute for Public Safety. Recipients must secure employment with the Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) immediately upon graduation or with another law enforcement office/department within the State of Florida (with a total force of 20 members or less). Recipients must maintain employment with the PCSO or another law enforcement office/department (as indicated above) for a minimum of three years. Recipients that fail to fulfill the employment requirements of this scholarship will be required to re-pay all scholarship funds on a pro-rated basis.
