The Communicator

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office joined efforts with the Polk County Board of Commissioners to purchase and operate The Communicator. This is a computer-based program to enhance communications with the public through the use of your telephone. The system is designed to relay important and timely information, which may be of interest to you and your community.

The Communicator can assist local government agencies in many ways, some messages sent through the system have included:

Burglary Suspect Information
Missing Person Notification
Sexual Predator Notification
Crime Prevention Tips
Weather Warnings
Fire Alerts
Major Road Closures
Crime Trend Reports
Neighborhood Meetings
Investigation Assistance

We ask that if a citizen receives a recorded message that they be a good neighbor and relay the information to the people in their area.
