Special Victims Units

The Special Victims Unit is comprised of twelve detectives and two sergeants. Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit are primarily involved in the investigation of physical and sexual abuse against children, adult sexual abuse, and elderly abuse. Within the unit one detective is assigned as the liaison to the Office of the State Attorney to assist attorneys in the Special Prosecutions Division with further investigation, interviews, and in the preparation of cases for trial.

These detectives work closely with the Department of Children and Families, State Attorney’s Office, and state and local law enforcement agencies in an effort to remove sexual offenders and physical abusers from the streets of our county.
