11-27-2018 INFORMATION SOUGHT IN DAMAGED EQUIPMENT

Nov 27, 2018
Media Contact : Sherrie Morgan, PIO

Polk County Sheriff's deputies are seeking your help in finding the person or persons who attempted to steal a UTV from a property owner in Mulberry.

Sometime between November 24, 2018 and November 25, 2018, someone entered the victim’s pasture at the end of Beulah Church Road. The suspect removed the victim’s red Honda Pioneer UTV from the property and then drove it onto Mosaic’s property off CR 640 (New Wales Mine) where it got stuck in the mud, just west of Bradley.

The suspect then spotted a potential solution to the problem, but it failed. They entered a Caterpiller D6T Dozer by busting out the window and it appears the suspect attempted to use the dozer to pull out the stolen UTV, getting the dozer stuck in the process.

There is approximately $75,000.00 in damages.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact Det. Curtis Eldridge at 863-287-5496.

You can also call Crimestoppers at
1-800-266-TIPS (8477). You will remain anonymous and if an arrest is made based on your tip, you are eligible for a cash reward.
