On June 26th, 2008, Uriel Aguilar and the victim, Pedro Travino, ran into each other at the Prima Supermarket in Mulberry, FL. The two men were co-workers and had previous altercations. As Aguilar was leaving the store with his brother, Travino approached Aguilar and challenged him to fight. Aguilar met with Travino in the parking lot armed with a knife. The two began fighting, and Aguilar stabbed Travino multiple times in the upper body. Travino was pronounced deceased at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center and Aguilar fled the scene. He was last seen in the area of Sparkman Road in Plant City. Aguilar has an active Polk warrant for Second Degree Murder.
On January 18, 2010, three armed and masked suspects committed a home invasion robbery on Island Oaks North in Lakeland. The victim, Byron Clark, was a known drug dealer and dealt drugs with Genaro Gonzalez. During the robbery, Clark was fatally shot with an AK-47 style rifle. After Clark was shot, the three suspects fled in a vehicle being driven by Gonzalez. Edgar Morales, Fredy Garduno, and German Arellano were positively identified; Morales was sentenced to prison, and the other two were indicted for First Degree Murder, Armed Burglary, and Attempted Armed Robbery. Gonzalez, Garduno, and Arellano all have active warrants for their arrests and are currently at large.
On November 30th, 1991, Guillermo Rangel fatally shot the victim, Jose Martinez. Rangel also shot and wounded Gabino Martinez and Gamaliel Victoria, and shot at Otilio Victoria but missed. Rangel threatened to kill Jose Martinez two weeks before the shooting. He came to the victims' residence and confronted them; when they exited the residence, Rangel shot them twice before shooting Victoria in the back as he ran away. Jose Martinez then exited the residence and Rangel fatally shot him. Rangel has active Polk County warrants for First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, and Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling.
