Theft of wallet at Citgo "Angel Food Mart" in Willow Oak

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of a wallet that occurred at the "Angel Food Mart" Citgo gas station, 4075 E State Road 60 West in the Willow Oak area west of Mulberry. On Thursday, January 12, 2023, around 2:23 p.m., the victim left his black Columbia brand bifold wallet, which contained over $750 (the threshold for grand theft) in cash and debit cards, on the store counter.

Around 2:35 p.m., the unknown Hispanic male suspect seen here picked up and looked at the wallet, and eventually stole it. The suspect was wearing a grey hoodie, and all black clothing. He left the store walking eastbound.
If anyone has information about this theft they are urged to contact Detective Sharpe at 863-499-2400 and reference case number 23-1730.
