The suspect in this video has been identified as 78-year-old Benjamin Savage, and he will be charged with felony petit theft.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft of a wallet. 

The crime occurred at the Citgo station (1035 Reynolds Road) in Lakeland on Saturday, July 11th at around 6:30 pm.

The 77-year-old victim made a purchase at the store. He set his wallet down on the counter to sort through his cash. After paying for his item, he walked away, forgetting that he left his wallet on the counter. The cashier was unable to see the wallet due to it being on the other side of a merchandise shelf. 

The next man in line saw the wallet though, and immediately slid it further away from the cashier before picking it up and placing it in his back pocket. The man then left the store, driving off in a light-colored older model Chrysler Pacifica.
