On February 25, 2001, the body of 32-year-old Juan Manuel Cruz, AKA "Mannie," was found around noon near the railroad tracks by US Hwy 17/92 and Smith Road near Haines City. He had been cut multiple times and robbed. He was last seen at approximately 1:45 a.m. early that morning.
