Tuesday night, October 13th, about five minutes before 10pm, a would-be robber walked into the Dollar General store at 8655 Hwy 60 (next to Boy Scout Camp Road), Lake Wales.

The suspect immediately pointed a chrome pistol at the store clerk and demanded money.

The clerk remained calm and informed the suspect that the money was locked in the safe, and she was unable to get into the safe.

The suspect was visibly frustrated…he apparently had not considered this possibility when he laid out his plan. He exited the store, crestfallen.

Despite his failure to steal money, he succeeded in committing a crime. Therefore, he needs to be found before he tries this again.

Based on the clerks’ description of the suspect, he is believed to be a white male in his lower 30s, between 5’7” – 5’10”, with a medium build.
