Polk County Sheriff's Agricultural Crimes detectives are investigating the theft of a boat motor and fishing gear that occurred in unincorporated Lake Wales.

The victim's bass boat was stolen from his property on West Beach Parkway around 6:40 a.m., Sunday, October 24, 2021. The boat was abandoned in an orange grove on the south side of Camp Mack Road and found the following day, minus its motor, depth finders, and fishing gear.

The motor is a Yamaha 250 HP VMAX. Two Lowrance HD212 depth finders were also stolen, and approximately 25 Cashion brand rod/reel sets. 

The total loss is valued at $35,000. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model white SUV, unknown make.
