The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary and theft of a pet.

The crime occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 1st, at a residence on Fairway Avenue in Lakeland (near Lake Parker).

An unknown person entered a screened-in front porch and stole the victim's gray Congo African Grey Parrot named Yoshi.

Yoshi has a silver ID ring attached its leg.
