Due to a tip from a fantastic member of our community,  an arrest has been made in this case. 

The suspect was identified as 30-year old Wesley Travis Rodgers of Mulberry.

During an interview with a PCSO detective, Rodgers initially denied the theft, but eventually confessed to not paying for the items.

Rodgers was arrested and charged with petit retail theft.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a retail theft from the Mulberry Walmart at 6745 Church Avenue North.

The suspect tried to make it appear as though he had paid for the merchandise in his shopping cart, but he paid for none of it. 

The merchandise was valued at about $180.

The suspect passed all points of sale, and when asked for his receipt, he had none to provide. He then fled from the scene.
