***UPDATE: March 4th***
On Thursday evening (3/3), deputies went to a residence near 12th Street East in Wahneta and began checking inside of a home there. Erik Allen fled out of the house, but the K-9 team of Phillips & Ketchum were able to find him catch him.
In addition to the charges on his warrant, Allen will also be charged with resisting and tampering with an electronic monitoring device (his ankle monitor).

Around 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, 39-year-old Erik William Allen was committing an occupied burglary with battery on Water Oaks Drive in the Wahneta area. Allen went into the victim’s home (uninvited) and pushed the victim, causing her to fall on the ground. When deputies arrived, he jumped up into a tree and refused to come down. He then jumped onto a roof and fled from there on foot.
Allen has an extensive criminal history & he’s been to state prison 4 times since 2003 for crimes he committed in Hillsborough and Polk. His last known address is on Saddle Oaks Drive in Lakeland. He has a tattoo on the right side of his next that says “Lisa,” he’s 5’7” tall, 160 lbs, bald with green eyes. He has a Polk County warrant for burglary with battery, and resisting arrest.
